5-1 was hard at work doing the Broken Calculator Challenge. Students have 10 answers they can find and can only use the buttons that aren't broken on the calculator. For example maybe the only buttons they are allowed to use are 2, 5 and 8 to try and find 10 different answers listed. Students are allowed to add, subtract or multiply the numbers. It's amazing seeing the different equations students come up with even though they have a limited choice of numbers to use. They love this activity and always get so pumped when we get to do it in Math. Students are really growing in their number sense. Well done 5-1!
