My name is Shane Chisholm and I am Principal of Ecole Mother Teresa School.
I was born and raised in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. I attended St. Francis Xavier University in my hometown where I received my Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a double minor in History/English. I began my teaching career in Manning, Alberta at Rosary School with Holy Family Catholic Regional Division in 1997. There I taught Phys. Ed. and Social Studies to grades 7-9. In 2000, I moved to Rocky Mountain House and I taught at St. Matthew School. I taught Phys. Ed. 7-12 and Social Studies 7-12. With the growth of St. Matthew School I was fortunate to transfer to the new high school in Rocky Mountain House, St. Dominic. I taught Phys. Ed 10-12 and Social Studies 10-12. I then started in administration in 2008 as a Vice-Principal at St. Matthew School. In 2012 until present I have been a Principal of St. Matthew School, St. Marguerite Bourgeoys School and now Ecole Mother Teresa.
I have 2 daughters, one in grade 7 and one in Grade 10 and my wife works for the Provincial Government in Red Deer.
My favorite sports are hockey and softball. My favorite athletic team is the Calgary Flames and my favorite player is Al MacInnes.
As an educator in Red Deer Catholic, I have been blessed to be apart of such a faith-filled division. Every day is a new day at EMTS and it has been a gift to be apart of such a dedicated staff and parish team to support our students.
